Gwangsan-gu District 4... "Reflecting Gwangsan Residents' Wishes in Gwangju Urban Policy"
On the 1st, Lee Gwi-soon, a member of the Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju, officially announced her candidacy for the Gwangsan District 4th electoral district (Singadong·Sinchangdong) of the Gwangju City Council.
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Gwisun, a member of the Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Democratic Party, Singadong·Sinchangdong), officially declared her candidacy for the Gwangsan District 4th electoral district (Singadong·Sinchangdong) of the Gwangju City Council.
On the 1st, Councilor Lee stated, "With four years of legislative experience as a Gwangsan District councilor, I have built trust with residents and honed my skills," adding, "I am challenging for the Gwangju City Council to reflect the wishes of Gwangsan residents in Gwangju's urban policies."
Along with this, she presented five major visions for Gwangju where citizens are the owners: ▲ Gwangju where citizens are the owners through strengthened civic autonomy ▲ Gwangju realizing carbon neutrality through citizen-participatory energy transition and green transportation transition ▲ Gwangju as a child-friendly city where children and adolescents are safe and have fun ▲ Gwangju where youth social basic rights are guaranteed and youth want to live ▲ Gwangju as a warm welfare community benefiting citizens.
Councilor Lee, elected as a Gwangsan District councilor in the 2018 local elections, is recognized for shifting the grassroots political主? to be citizen-centered with the goal that "healthy and good politics depend on residents' autonomy."
In particular, she has worked hard to resolve major local pending issues such as the installation of soundproof tunnels on the 2nd ring road and securing sites for the children and youth complex cultural center.
She has also taken the lead in improving the quality of life for Gwangsan residents through policy activities such as the "Ordinance to Support the Quality of Life of Residents in Gwangsan District's Permanent Rental Apartments," "Ordinance to Support Small Business Owners in Gwangsan District," and "Ordinance to Support Village Childcare."
She has served as co-chair of the Gwangju Basic Social Committee for presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung, chair of the 8th Gwangsan District Council's second half budget and settlement special committee, and education director of the Democratic Party's National Youth Party.
Currently, she is active as a budget and settlement committee member of the Democratic Party Gwangju City Party, an executive committee member of the National Women Local Council Network, and a director of Gwangju Madang.
