Virtual ICT Policy Forum Between the Two Countries Held on the 18th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] On the 18th, the Ministry of Science and ICT held the 1st Korea-Colombia Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy Forum online with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies of Colombia.
At the meeting, Kim Sung-kyu, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and ICT, together with Daniela Garces Lopez, International Cooperation Advisor (Director-level) of Colombia's Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC), shared Korea's 5G+ strategy policy, which is an industrial promotion policy based on 5th generation mobile communication.
They also discussed key topics such as the directions and achievements of policies being promoted by both sides in areas including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, workforce development, cybersecurity, and the use of digital technologies to respond to climate change.
In this regard, Colombia is promoting the construction of 5G mobile networks and digital transformation in both public and private sectors, creating opportunities for Korean companies to enter the market.
Director Kim said, "The 1st Korea-Colombia ICT Policy Forum is meaningful in seeking cooperation through policy communication with Colombia," and added, "We will continue to expand the scope of ICT cooperation by discovering practical cooperative projects through ongoing exchanges."
