[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is expanding its clean valley tourism attraction project to 14 locations.
On the 10th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has added 11 more sites this year to the three clean valleys?Pocheon Baegun Valley, Yeoju Jurok-ri Valley, and Gapyeong Yongso Valley?where illegal facilities were removed last year.
The newly added sites this year are ▲Gapyeong Eobi Valley ▲Gapyeong Jojongcheon ▲Yangju Jangheung Valley ▲Namyangju Cheonghak Valley ▲Gwangju Namhansanseong Valley ▲Dongducheon Tapdong Valley ▲Yeoncheon Amicheon ▲Goyang Changneungcheon ▲Uiwang Cheonggye Valley ▲Yongin Jangturi Stream ▲Yangpyeong Sanasa Valley.
The province plans to develop and operate travel programs that include local tourism courses connecting nearby tourist spots, trails, and campgrounds along these rivers and valleys, as well as healing meditation experience programs utilizing excellent forest, nature, and ecological areas around the valleys, and specialized courses featuring seasonal characteristics such as cherry blossoms and autumn foliage.
Various customer attraction events will be held to guide potential travel demand to the valleys, and through the maintenance of illegal facilities, the diverse charms of Gyeonggi Province’s valleys that have returned will be discovered. Additionally, to promote the value of these non-face-to-face safe tourist destinations, a 'Clean Valley Emotional Certification Photo Contest' will be held from June to August.
To enhance the convenience of tourists visiting the clean valleys, Gyeonggi Province will publish and distribute tourism guide brochures and audiobooks for the valley tourism. Furthermore, to strengthen the promotional capabilities of residents in the clean valley areas, customized training such as promotional video production techniques will be conducted for 2 to 3 days per village.
Moreover, as part of expanding clean valley promotional marketing, the province will increase online and offline promotions including influencer (social media celebrity) utilization such as operating 'Tourism Informants,' product placement (PPL) in broadcasts (dramas, entertainment), nationwide informant contests, use of personal blogs and YouTube, G Bus, outdoor advertising, and social media (SNS) events.
Choi Yong-hoon, Director of the Tourism Division of the province, emphasized, "We plan to prepare various programs so that residents can enjoy and experience the clean valleys, which are unique specialized resources of Gyeonggi Province, as a place of mental rest. The clean valleys will become richer attractions for residents and new sources of income for local communities. We will nurture the clean valleys into a long-lasting and repeatedly visited tourist destination."
Last year, under the 'Clean Valley Tourism Attraction Project,' the province supported ▲Pocheon Baegun Valley's 'Four Seasons Picnic Experience' ▲Yeoju Jurok-ri Valley's 'Deer Playing Jurok-ri Valley Experience' ▲Gapyeong Jomurakgol and Yongso Valley's 'Return of the Fireflies.' These valleys operated various experience programs and tourism products to attract visitors.
