[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Chorokbaem Media announced on the 8th that its affiliate Aurora Media is producing the baseball entertainment program "Back to the Ground" together with Space Rabbit and Freekong.
'Back to the Ground' is a "retirement reversal" entertainment program that captures the spectacular return of players who made a mark in the history of Korean baseball. Retired players form a team and showcase the impressive plays they demonstrated during their active careers once again on the show.
Kim In-sik, honorary advisor to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), will serve as the team's manager, and the MCs will be Kim Gura and Lee Chan-won.
Yoo Il-yong, head of production at Space Rabbit and director of Back to the Ground, said, "This year marks the 40th anniversary of Korean professional baseball," adding, "We wanted to realize the dream-like story of legendary baseball players who heated the hearts of baseball fans reversing their retirement and stepping back onto the field."
He continued, "Unlike their dulled bodies, the passion in their hearts remains as hot as ever. We plan to vividly depict the process of retired players creating a legendary national representative baseball team together with Kim In-sik, the national manager."
An Aurora Media official said, "Starting with Back to the Ground, we are preparing to produce various entertainment programs," adding, "Following last year's participation in the content production alliance, we plan to create various revenue models not only through content production but also through these efforts."
A Chorokbaem Media official emphasized, "We plan to directly operate a cable TV broadcasting channel and acquired the Kstar channel last year for this purpose," adding, "We will secure various genres of content not only through self-produced content but also by utilizing the content production alliance, maximizing additional revenue such as advertising."
