Changwon-si, New Childcare Support Center Construction... 10.1 Billion Won Invested, Scheduled for Completion in 2023

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 27th for the relocation and construction of the Changwon City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center to create a better childcare environment for raising children.

The city decided to build a new facility after concerns were raised that the current center, located on the 4th floor of the Women's Hall Changwon Branch, was too small to meet the rapidly increasing childcare demand.

The center will be constructed on a 1,544㎡ site with a total budget of 10.1 billion KRW, including 7.8 billion KRW from the city, 1.7 billion KRW from the national government, and 560 million KRW from the provincial government. The building will have one basement floor and four above-ground floors.

The first floor will house a municipal daycare center; the second floor will include a toy library, play experience facilities, a community care center, and a shared childcare space; the third floor will have seminar rooms, a large auditorium, and program rooms; and the fourth floor will accommodate the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony, construction will proceed in earnest, with an estimated construction period of about 18 months, aiming for completion in June 2023.
