Suncheon City Promotes Seedling Soil and Customized Fertilizer Support Project for Rice Seedlings


[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will promote the 'Seedling Soil and Customized Fertilizer Support Project for Rice Seedlings' to reduce agricultural management costs for rice farmers and ensure stable rice production.


The support target is agricultural management entities registered with rice cultivation agricultural management information residing in Suncheon City, and 70% of the purchase cost of seedling soil and customized fertilizer will be supported.


The seedling soil for rice seedlings will be supported in detailed specifications: 25 bags of 40L, 50 bags of 20L, and 300 mats of mat soil per 1ha, and customized fertilizer will be supported with 15 bags of base fertilizer, 7 bags of top dressing, and 20 bags of controlled-release and high-concentration fertilizer per 1ha.


To reduce farmers' management costs, 80% of the price increase of inorganic fertilizers will be supported by the government, local governments, and the NongHyup, and support will be provided based on the actual purchase cost excluding the price increase subsidy.


Eligible farmers can apply by visiting the administrative welfare center of the town, township, or neighborhood where their farmland is located by the 4th of next month. After confirming the agricultural management entity registration information and finalizing the supply amount per farm, supplies are expected to be provided by mid-April.


A representative of the Suncheon Agricultural Technology Center said, "We will continue to support rice farmers to produce high-quality rice and reduce the burden of rising agricultural material costs so that they can engage in farming."
