[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been operating a 'mobile testing vehicle' since the 11th to block COVID-19 infections.

According to the county on the 20th, the 'mobile testing vehicle' was introduced on a trial basis to prevent the spread of community infections by circulating through the region and allowing self-quarantined individuals to get tested without moving when confirmed cases occur.

Before operating the mobile testing vehicle, the testing site was operated in a tent form, but to increase mobility and collect specimens quickly and safely, a custom-made vehicle-mounted testing equipment was developed.

In particular, testing equipment with heating, cooling, and positive pressure facilities was installed on a 1-ton truck to allow two people to be tested simultaneously.

The 'mobile testing vehicle' was one of the ideas finally selected at the 'COVID-19 Spread Prevention Measures Idea Report Meeting' held in August, and has been operated since this month after the vehicle was produced.

Meanwhile, the Wando County Health and Medical Center operates the COVID-19 screening clinic without holidays (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.), and if you fill out the electronic questionnaire (COVID test registration) on the Wando County website and visit the medical center, you can get tested quickly.

Today, the health clinics in island areas such as Geumil, Nohwa, Neopdo, Soan, Cheongsan, Geumdang, Bogil, and Saengil operate every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A health and medical center official said, "The Omicron variant is spreading rapidly," and urged, "Residents are asked to wear masks, refrain from unnecessary movement, actively undergo diagnostic testing, and those who have not been vaccinated should get vaccinated."
