[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 20s who, while intoxicated, climbed onto a parked delivery vehicle and crashed into the wall of a house was arrested by the police.
The Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 17th that they are investigating a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of drunk driving, illegal use of a vehicle, and property damage.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of taking control of a delivery vehicle while intoxicated at a multi-family residence in Geumcheon-gu around 11:50 p.m. on the 15th, driving approximately 40 meters before crashing into and damaging the wall of a house.
The police responded to a report stating "a heavily intoxicated driver is operating a vehicle" and arrested Mr. A at the scene as a suspect caught in the act. It is reported that Mr. A refused to undergo a breathalyzer test when requested by the police at the time of arrest.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he has no recollection of the incident due to intoxication.
A police official said, "We are accurately determining the details of the incident."
