Imsil County Government Employees' Union Builds Sound Labor-Management Relations... Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Kim Jin-hwan, chairman of the labor union at Imsil County Office in Jeonbuk, received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in recognition of his contribution to building a sound labor-management relationship.

The Imsil County Public Officials Labor Union announced on the 30th that Chairman Kim Jin-hwan and Secretary General Kim Hoe-in were selected as awardees at the provincial level in the annual commendation for contributions to building sound labor-management relations, announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Personnel Management at the end of each year.

This award is the result of being recognized as a model representing other cities and counties for efforts made by labor and management together for county development and employee welfare.

A representative achievement made by labor and management includes purchasing 130 million KRW worth of local gift certificates to support small business owners struggling due to COVID-19, thereby participating in revitalizing the local economy.

Additionally, appropriate responses to abusive behavior from local internet journalists and the enactment of an ordinance to protect and support public officials from malicious complainants?the first of its kind nationwide among cities and counties?are achievements made jointly by labor and management.

Chairman Kim Jin-hwan said, “This is the result of the executive branch and the labor union maintaining a win-win relationship with one heart and one mind toward a single goal to create a workplace where people want to come to work and promote regional economic development.” He added, “We will continue to join hands in labor and management to lead efforts for county development and employee welfare so that we can become the best local government nationwide.”
