'House of Gucci' Lady Gaga, Nominated for Best Actress at the US Golden Globe Awards


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actress Lady Gaga has been nominated for Best Actress at the 79th Golden Globe Awards for the film "House of Gucci."


"House of Gucci" (directed by Ridley Scott) has been nominated in 35 categories across 18 award ceremonies worldwide, including the Golden Globes and the 27th Critics' Choice Awards.


The film, which depicts the deadly desires, greed, and murder hidden behind Gucci's glamour, received nominations for Best Actress (Lady Gaga), Best Supporting Actor (Jared Leto), Best Picture, Best Ensemble, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup, among others.


Lady Gaga, who portrayed the captivating Gucci family woman Patrizia, was nominated for 14 Best Actress awards and was selected as the winner of the Best Actress award at the 86th New York Film Critics Circle Awards and the Icon Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.


Since its North American release last November, "House of Gucci" has topped the box office in 18 countries worldwide, including the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, and is also being considered for major categories at the 94th Academy Awards. It will be released domestically on the 12th of next month.


Meanwhile, the 79th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be held on the 9th of next month (local time).
