[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Corpus Korea is soaring.


At 9:57 AM on the 22nd, Corpus Korea was trading at 3,255 KRW, up 14.41% from the previous day.


On this day, the Hallyu content specialist Corpus Korea announced that it has signed a content supply contract with Disney Plus Japan through its Japanese subsidiary, Corpus Japan. Through this supply contract, Hallyu dramas and entertainment content will be available on Disney Plus Japan starting February next year.


A representative from Corpus Korea stated, "A global K-content syndrome is spreading," and added, "The situation is accelerating especially in Japan, which can be considered the largest consumer market of Hallyu."


He continued, "The demand for Hallyu content from global OTT platforms targeting the Japanese market is steadily increasing," emphasizing, "Just like the previous consecutive content supply contracts with Amazon, this time Disney Plus requested Hallyu content supply."


He said, "We have signed a meaningful initial supply contract," and added, "The supply contract with Disney Plus signifies that Corpus Korea is expanding its base to global OTT companies following Netflix and Amazon."


Furthermore, he stated, "Through this, we aim to secure second and third global OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon to achieve greater leaps alongside the growth of K-content."


Regarding recent works, a company representative said, "The global OTT drama 'One Day,' starring Kim Soo-hyun and Cha Seung-won, which was simultaneously released last month on Korea's Coupang and Japan's Amazon, is gaining popularity both domestically and internationally," and added, "'Dali and Gamjatang,' which ended on KBS 2TV on the 11th of last month, and 'Now, We Are Breaking Up,' currently airing on SBS, are also expected to perform well in Japan."
