[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] A heartwarming story has emerged, revealing the warm hearts of citizens who showed kindness to delivery workers and the gratitude expressed by the delivery workers in return.

According to a YTN report on the 20th, a snack basket for delivery workers was placed in the hallway of an apartment building in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. Inside the basket were juices, water, snacks, and a note that read, "Dear delivery workers, thank you always for your hard work. Please take as much as you need." The gift was prepared by Mr. Seo, who lives on the 4th floor.

After hearing that delivery workers were struggling with the increased volume of deliveries since the spread of COVID-19, Mr. Seo has been leaving the snack basket in the hallway for over a year. He said, "After COVID-19 started, I saw news that delivery workers were having a hard time due to the increased delivery volume. Since our building has no elevator and I live on the 4th floor, I felt sorry and made a beverage basket for the delivery workers."

Recently, Mr. Seo was surprised while checking the CCTV at his front door to see if a delivery had arrived. On the CCTV screen, a delivery worker picked up a drink from the basket and bowed his head toward Mr. Seo’s door in thanks.

Seeing this scene, Mr. Seo said, "I felt even more grateful to see how they expressed their feelings even for such a small gesture."

Netizens who learned of this story responded with comments such as "This is heartwarming," "It’s great that the snack basket was set up and the delivery worker showed gratitude," "The world is still a place worth living," and "Small acts of kindness bring great emotion."

In particular, a netizen who identified himself as the older brother of the delivery worker in the video left a comment saying, "I felt bad seeing my hardworking younger brother, but I am also grateful that there are people who prepare snacks like this. I wish happiness and good things to everyone who left kind comments."
