GS Retail and Ministry of Education Collaborate on 'Career and Vocational Education Activation Project for Students with Disabilities' On the 17th, GS Retail will sign a business agreement with the Ministry of Education to promote career and vocational education for students with disabilities.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 17th that it will sign a business agreement with the Ministry of Education to promote career and vocational education for students with disabilities.

Through this business agreement, they will jointly promote projects focused on ▲providing customized on-site training places for students with disabilities ▲efforts to create quality jobs for students with disabilities ▲cooperation to raise awareness of employment for people with disabilities and spread a nationwide culture of empathy for disabilities.

Starting in 2022, GS Retail plans to intensify vocational education and on-site training for students with disabilities through convenience store GS25 and supermarket GS The Fresh stores. To this end, a total of 47 stores located nationwide, including 30 GS25 stores and 17 GS The Fresh stores, have been prepared as customized on-site training places for students with disabilities.

A systematic job training program for students with disabilities has also been prepared. GS Retail plans to leverage the know-how accumulated through the vocational training-type convenience store for people with disabilities, "Neulbom Store," to provide eye-level education and practical training programs so that students with disabilities can quickly learn and proficiently perform the overall tasks required at convenience stores and supermarkets.

Oh Jin-seok, Vice President and Head of GS Retail Platform BU, said, "We have promoted this career and vocational education activation project for students with disabilities with the Ministry of Education to fulfill the social responsibility and role of the company. Through socially responsible stores that leverage the strengths of offline platforms, we plan to further strengthen ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management by leading support for the successful independence and self-sufficiency of socially vulnerable groups."
