[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] The Policy Headquarters of the People Power Party Central Election Countermeasures Committee announced on the 10th that it will establish a one-stop integrated agency to protect and support victims of violent crimes and provide healing support funds to victims. It will also support the deletion of digital sex crime victims' videos, abolish the non-prosecution clause in the Stalking Punishment Act, and create a protection system for victims of dating violence.

Co-Chair Lee Soo-jung and Policy Headquarters Chief Won Hee-ryong held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day, stating, "While the rights of perpetrators have improved, the protection of victims' rights has been neglected," and announced related policies. This is the first pledge to protect vulnerable crime victims.

Co-Chair Lee emphasized, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration will shift all systems for protecting and supporting crime victims to be victim-centered," adding, "We will support crime victims until their mental and physical wounds caused by crime are healed so that they can return to their daily lives."

The announced pledges include ▲establishing an integrated dedicated agency for protecting and supporting crime victims ▲introducing a healing support fund system for victims of violent crimes ▲fully expanding undercover investigations of digital sex crimes ▲abolishing the non-prosecution clause in the Stalking Punishment Act ▲and expanding the application of the Domestic Violence Punishment Act to include dating violence.

Co-Chair Lee said, "The state will help victims overcome crime by combining emotional and physical healing programs after violent crimes," and added, "We will establish Digital Sex Crime Victim Support Centers under local governments nationwide and protect victims of violence occurring during dating regardless of marriage registration status."

Meanwhile, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, described the amendments to the Telecommunications Business Act and the Information and Communications Network Act, known as the so-called 'Nth Room Prevention Law,' as "ineffective measures" and announced plans to push for re-amendment at the party level. On Facebook, Lee said, "There is a strong possibility of severely infringing on the freedom of communication guaranteed by Article 18 of the Constitution, and it is practically difficult to apply to platforms like Telegram, which were the distribution channels in the Nth Room case."
