Hapcheon-gun Health Center Operates Intensive Period for Third COVID-19 Vaccination Dose for Elderly

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Hapcheon County Health Center in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it will operate the third dose (booster shot) of the COVID-19 vaccine for the elderly until the 31st.

Currently, the county has identified 17,634 elderly individuals eligible for the third dose and plans to administer vaccinations through on-site reservations at regional health clinics (Yaro, Samga, Chogye) and entrusted medical institutions.

Additionally, to assist elderly individuals with mobility difficulties, the county is providing transportation convenience support to entrusted medical institutions and regional health clinics, as well as operating a visiting vaccination team at mobile vaccination centers to accelerate additional vaccine administration.

The county is implementing early vaccination by one month compared to the recommended interval for priority groups such as ▲ elderly aged 60 and above ▲ residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities ▲ residents and workers in facilities for the disabled and elderly, which are vulnerable to infection ▲ individuals aged 18-59 with underlying conditions ▲ and workers in primary medical institutions. Priority occupational groups wishing to receive the booster can make reservations through the COVID-19 vaccination pre-registration website starting two weeks before the available date for additional vaccination.

County Governor Moon Jun-hee stated, “Cases of breakthrough infections are steadily increasing domestically. Our county has reported confirmed cases for three consecutive days from the 4th to today,” and urged, “Please make sure to receive the third dose when the time comes to prevent COVID-19 infection.”
