Investigation into Former Lawmaker Kim Moo-sung's 'Fake Fisherman Rent-a-Car' Allegation Nears Completion

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The investigation into Kim Moo-sung, the Standing Adviser of the People Power Party, who is suspected of receiving a luxury foreign rental car from Kim, a 'fake seafood businessman' who handed out money and gifts to influential figures in politics, law, and media, is expected to conclude soon.

Choi Kwan-ho, Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a press conference held on the 6th at the Seoul Police Agency in Naejadong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We summoned Representative Kim Moo-sung on the 25th of last month and conducted an investigation," adding, "Since the preliminary investigation is complete, the investigation into former Representative Kim is in its final stage."

Regarding the recent large-scale rallies by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), he stated, "114 people have been booked in connection with three recent KCTU rallies, and 47 have been investigated," adding, "The process is ongoing sequentially."

The Seoul Police Agency conducted crackdowns on illegal entertainment establishments and drunk driving for a month following the phased transition to daily recovery (With Corona), booking 18 people in 130 cases during November. A Seoul Police Agency official said, "As the business restriction standards changed, violations of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act decreased, but due to the reduced restrictions, local governments and crackdowns will continue steadily."
