[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Starting Monday the 6th, daytime temperatures will rise significantly above average, with most regions nationwide experiencing warm weather around 10 degrees Celsius. In some areas including the Seoul metropolitan area, fine dust levels will spike to 'bad'.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 6th at 6 a.m., the morning low temperatures are Seoul -0.4°C, Chuncheon -5.7°C, Incheon 2.7°C, Suwon -1.0°C, Jeonju 2.5°C, Daejeon -0.4°C, Andong -2.3°C, Daegu 0°C, Ulsan 3.6°C, Gwangju 4.1°C, Changwon 4.7°C, Busan 7.0°C, and Yeosu 9.1°C.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to be 3 to 7 degrees higher than average, ranging from 9 to 16 degrees Celsius. Most regions nationwide will experience a large daily temperature range of 10 to 15 degrees, so health management is advised.
Fine dust concentrations will temporarily rise to 'bad' levels in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and Daegu during the morning and night. Most central and western regions and parts of the Yeongnam region will see accumulation of domestically generated fine dust due to stagnant air in the morning, and an influx of foreign fine dust at night, causing somewhat elevated concentrations.
The southern regions will be mostly cloudy, while the central regions will be mostly clear but will become cloudier from the afternoon. After 9 p.m. until early tomorrow morning, the western Seoul metropolitan area and the western coast of Chungnam may experience raindrops due to cloud bands coming in from the West Sea. Expected precipitation amounts are around 1mm for the five West Sea islands, and less than 0.1mm for the western Seoul metropolitan area and the western coast of Chungnam.
In Gangwon Yeongdong, northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, and the eastern coast of Gyeongsang where dry weather warnings are in effect, the air is very dry and winds are somewhat strong, so special caution is required to prevent various fires including wildfires.
On the 7th, due to easterly winds, rain is expected from morning to night along the Gangwon East Coast and Gangwon mountainous areas, and from afternoon to night along the Gyeongbuk East Coast. Snow accumulation is expected in the Gangwon mountainous areas. Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 20mm for the Gangwon East Coast, and around 5mm for the Gangwon mountainous areas and Gyeongbuk East Coast. Snow accumulation is forecast to be 1 to 3cm in the Gangwon mountainous areas above 1000m elevation.
