[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Samsung Electronics' most affordable 5G smartphone, the ‘Galaxy A13 5G,’ has appeared in the U.S. market.

On the 1st (local time), according to IT specialized media GSM Arena, Samsung Electronics officially launched the A13 5G in the U.S. market.

The A13 5G is currently Samsung Electronics' cheapest 5G phone, available online from AT&T starting on the 3rd for $249.99 (approximately 290,000 KRW). Next month, sales channels will expand to Samsung Electronics' website and T-Mobile. IT specialized media Phone Arena evaluated the A13 5G's price by stating, “The $249 price is significantly higher compared to its predecessor, the ‘Galaxy A12 ($180),’ but considering the latest 5G version, improved display, and camera, it can be a reasonable choice.”

The A13 5G features a V-shaped notch at the top front for the selfie camera and supports a 90Hz screen refresh rate, which is rare for budget smartphones. It is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset as the application processor (AP) to keep costs low. It supports 64GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB. The screen is a 6.5-inch 720x1600 LCD display.

The camera setup includes a triple camera system with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Like its predecessor, it comes with a large 5000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging. Additionally, it includes a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
