THQ Partners with Leaders Hangong for Charter Flight Cooperation... "Building a Global Comprehensive Travel Agency Foundation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] THQ announced on the 22nd that it has signed a strategic business cooperation agreement with Leaders Airlines to respond to the surge in traveler demand in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era.

Leaders Airlines has secured charter flight routes centered on China, including Zhangjiajie, Hainan, Jinan, and Johor Bahru in Malaysia. Zhangjiajie is a route that not all airlines can operate; only airlines holding permits and slots from mainland China and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport can operate it exclusively.

Leaders Airlines recently secured an exclusive Incheon-Cambodia Siem Reap route for tourism and golf tours in Cambodia, which is about to fully lift COVID-19 lockdowns. Additionally, the charter flight contract signed with Sky Angkor Airlines will operate daily flights from January 1 to February 26 next year, totaling 57 flights.

THQ expects to develop into a comprehensive travel agency covering both inbound and outbound travel through collaboration with Leaders Airlines, which operates international charter flights and outbound business. The two companies plan to actively cooperate to expand various charter flight routes and achieve efficient sales in the future.

A company official explained, “THQ has strengthened its existing inbound platform business and entered a stabilization phase by promoting the China Hainan duty-free distribution business from the beginning of the year. According to our mid- to long-term development strategy, we signed a business cooperation agreement with Leaders to diversify our business into outbound and charter flight operations, also participating in equity. Through collaboration with Leaders Airlines, we have laid the foundation to leap forward as a global comprehensive travel agency.”

He added, “As the China Hainan duty-free store business, which was promoted to overcome the sales decline crisis of domestic duty-free shops due to COVID-19, is gradually gaining momentum and showing performance improvement, it is expected that additional performance growth will be possible by absorbing the explosively increasing traveler demand through new business initiatives such as outbound and charter flight operations.”
