Incheon Airport Corporation Conducts Fire Accident Response Drill at 4th Phase Construction Site On the 3rd, airport firefighters are conducting emergency first aid training during a fire response drill at the expansion site of Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 4th that it conducted a fire accident response drill at the expansion site of Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

The drill held the previous day was conducted in compliance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, with about 50 participants including Incheon International Airport Corporation, airport fire brigade, construction project management team, and contractors.

The drill simulated a scenario where a fire broke out during welding work at the Terminal 2 expansion project site, causing burns to workers. The training included ▲ prompt accident reporting in case of fire ▲ initial response by workers such as using fire extinguishers ▲ site access control and worker evacuation to prevent secondary accidents ▲ firefighting by fire trucks and rescue operations, following the crisis response manual.

Incheon International Airport Corporation explained that as the construction of the 4th phase project is in full swing this year, the drill was conducted to raise awareness and vigilance regarding emergencies such as fires.

Through this drill, the corporation improved initial response capabilities in emergency situations and strengthened organic cooperation systems among construction project stakeholders including Incheon International Airport Corporation, construction project management team, and contractors.

Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, “We plan to regularly conduct realistic crisis response drills such as fire response and establish an on-site response system capable of timely reaction to emergencies, ensuring thorough safety management at the 4th phase construction site.”
