[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] As the Netflix original series 'Squid Game' gains immense popularity worldwide, a couple who recreated the drama's concept exactly for their wedding photos has become a hot topic.

On the 30th (local time), a wedding photography company in Toronto, Canada, revealed photos of newlyweds Nina Pliwa and Patrick Pliwa through the official social media channels. The couple attracted attention by taking unique wedding photos themed around the Korean drama 'Squid Game.'

In the photos, the two reenacted scenes such as having the 'Front Man,' the character who oversees the games in the series, officiate their wedding, or focusing intently on the sugar honeycomb game while a masked staff member with a square symbol watches over them. They also recreated scenes similar to the drama, such as playing the game of ttakji (folded paper tile game) at a subway station or holding a business card while making a phone call.

The entire photo shoot reportedly took about six hours. Nina, the main subject in the photos, introduced herself as an avid fan of 'Squid Game' and said, "I was very happy when my husband suggested having a wedding shoot themed around the drama." She also expressed, "Since we postponed our wedding twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this became an even more special memory."
