Daegu Innovation City Public Institutions Launch Practical Council for Conflict of Interest Prevention

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Ten public institutions in Daegu Innovation City will take the lead in complying with conflict of interest prevention among public officials together with Daegu citizens. On the 28th, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (Chairman Kim Jeong-hwan) announced the launch of the 'Conflict of Interest Prevention Working Council' involving public institutions in Daegu Innovation City and citizens.


The working council includes 10 public sector institutions such as Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Education and Research Information Service, Korea Brain Research Institute, Korea Real Estate Board, Korea Private School Promotion Foundation, Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology Evaluation and Planning, Korea Student Aid Foundation, and National Information Society Agency, along with 8 integrity citizen auditors. Activities will include ▲establishing systems for the implementation of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act ▲integrity discussions with citizens ▲spreading best practices through collaborative activities by each institution.


Kim Jeong-hwan, Chairman of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, said, "Through the working council operated together with citizens, we will do our best to autonomously establish a compliance system before the enforcement of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and cooperate among public institutions in Daegu Innovation City to become trusted institutions by the public."
