Yoo Jae-suk "Sent Okdom"... Lucid Fall, a Highly Educated Agency Member Listed in 'Nature'

[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Yoo Jae-suk's story of gifting tilefish to singer Lucid Fall, a member of the Antenna agency family, has become a hot topic.

On the 27th, Lucid Fall, an engineer-turned-farmer musician who has been published in the world-renowned scientific journal 'Nature,' appeared as a guest on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (You Quiz).

That day, Yoo Jae-suk said, "After I moved to the agency, people might misunderstand because Lucid Fall appeared. I had been trying to invite Lucid Fall even before joining the agency, but he declined due to the busy farming season."

When Lucid Fall was not very familiar with 'You Quiz' and Jo Se-ho, Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Didn't I just join Antenna?" Lucid Fall laughed and replied, "I know. You even send tilefish, right?" Yoo Jae-suk joked, "I sent beef to everyone, but since Lucid Fall lives in Jeju Island, I sent tilefish."

Yoo Jae-suk also praised, "I am the first person with a low academic background to join Antenna, and among the highly educated, Lucid Fall is the best." Lucid Fall graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, earned a master's degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and completed a Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the ?cole Polytechnique F?d?rale de Lausanne. In 2007, he received the Best Paper Award in the Polymer Science Division from the Swiss Chemical Society, marking him as a distinguished talent in the biotechnology field.

Lucid Fall said, "I studied as I was told during my school days. I had to go to college because the teachers said so, so I went where they told me to go. Actually, I liked experimenting and thinking alone to prove various things. So I worked hard. I think I worked hard enough, so I didn't have anything left that I wanted to do more," explaining why he stopped his academic pursuits.

Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Don't you think it's a waste to only do music activities after all that studying?" Lucid Fall honestly replied, "I've never thought that way. I've heard people say, 'Why do music with an uncertain future when you have a guaranteed future?' But where is a guaranteed future? No matter what field or job you do, nothing is easy."

Lucid Fall has been farming tangerines in Jeju Island for eight years while simultaneously working on his albums. He said, "At first, I had no intention of farming tangerines. But while looking for a house, I happened to meet some farmers. Thanks to the local elders, I found a house and started farming by renting a small tangerine orchard."
