Deepening Autumn Brings 'Taste' and 'Coffee Aroma' to Daegu... Food Industry Expo & Coffee & Cafe Expo Held Simultaneously

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] An expo encompassing the food, coffee, and cafe industries will be held in Daegu.

Daegu City will simultaneously host the 19th Daegu Food Industry Expo 2021 and the 10th Daegu Coffee & Cafe Fair 2021 at EXCO from the 28th to the 31st.

The themes of this expo are "Jump Up! Daegu Food Industry Leaps Again" and "Welcome to Coffee Wonderland."

Held for the first time in two years due to COVID-19, this expo aims to revitalize the local food industry by promoting excellent local food products and providing new technologies and trends in the food industry.

Live shopping commerce will be held to support the promotion and market expansion of food manufacturing companies in the Daegu area.

At the expo's themed pavilion, the "Smart Dining Industry Pavilion," visitors can glimpse various food industry trends with exhibits such as VD Company's unmanned, contactless, AI serving robots (the top domestic serving robot company), Robotable's ice cream robot and IT-converged payment system, and Neuromeka's frying robot.

Moving beyond a primarily exhibition-focused event, the expo has transformed into a food industry fair encompassing dining, tourism, and industry, featuring 177 booths from 100 companies leading dining industry trends.

Additionally, the creation of the "Daeguro Special Pavilion," a local public delivery app, supports local small business owners and revitalizes the neighborhood economy.

At the "Startup Youth Mall," popular menus from representative local youth malls such as Yakryeong Market, Sangyeok General Market, and Hyeonpung Dokkaebi Market will be showcased.

The "Meal Kit Pavilion" will exhibit and promote meal kit products developed by companies participating in this year's packaging and delivery consulting project supported by Daegu City.

The "Food Alley Pavilion" will feature participation from representative local food alleys such as Dong-gu Chicken Gizzard Alley and Nam-gu Mulbegi Alley, offering various events and programs.

Especially, a 40-meter-long "Bread Pilgrimage Path" and photo zone will be installed in the center of the expo hall, filling the air with the aroma of freshly baked bread.

At the second annual "Daegu Premium Bread Competition," a judging panel composed of experts and citizens is expected to select the premium breads.

The Daegu Coffee & Cafe Fair, held simultaneously with the Food Industry Expo, is expected to revitalize the cafe and coffee-related industries severely affected by COVID-19 and ignite marketing efforts that have been subdued.

With 90 companies and a total of 200 booths participating, this fair will showcase various coffee trends and new products including coffee machines, coffee beans, home cafe supplies, desserts, bakery items, tableware, and eco-friendly containers.

Famous baristas will be invited for the "10th Anniversary Guest Barista" event to communicate with visitors, and lectures and seminars for prospective cafe entrepreneurs will provide diverse information on consulting, menu development, and styling know-how related to coffee.

The Daegu Coffee Championship will announce the discovery of hidden talents in roasting and hand drip coffee fields.

At the "Coffee Beginner Experience Pavilion" and the "2021 Daegu Cafe King Selection Contest," anyone interested in coffee can enjoy engaging content.

The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and visitors wishing to attend can enjoy both expos simultaneously through free pre-registration.
