Apple TV Plus's First Korean Original is 'Doctor Brain'

Director Kim Ji-woon’s New Work... Starring Lee Sun-kyun, Lee Yoo-young, Park Hee-soon, and Others

Apple TV Plus, set to launch its domestic service on the 4th of next month, announced on the 25th that it will present 'Dr. Brain' as its first Korean original series. It is a new work by director Kim Ji-woon, known for 'A Tale of Two Sisters' and 'I Saw the Devil.' The series adapts Hong Jakga's webtoon of the same name into a sci-fi thriller genre. Actors Lee Sun-kyun, Lee Yoo-young, Park Hee-soon, Seo Ji-hye, and Lee Jae-won star in the series. Production is handled by Bound Entertainment, Kakao Entertainment, Studio Plex, and Dark Circle Pictures. Jamie Illic, co-head of Apple Worldwide Video, said, "'Dr. Brain' marks the beginning of our effort to widely distribute content with the highest quality and unique perspectives."

Originals offered on Apple TV Plus include 'Ted Lasso' starring Jason Sudeikis, 'The Morning Show' starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, 'See' starring Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, and Alfre Woodard, and 'Servant' produced by M. Night Shyamalan. Other titles airing on Apple TV Plus include 'Finch' starring Tom Hanks, 'Palmer' starring Justin Timberlake, the documentary 'Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry,' the animated film 'Wolfwalkers,' 'The Shrink Next Door' starring Will Ferrell, 'The Tragedy of Macbeth' starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, 'Killers of the Flower Moon' starring Leonardo DiCaprio, 'Emancipation' starring Will Smith, and 'Swan Song' starring Mahershala Ali, Naomi Harris, Glenn Close, and Awkwafina.
