Village Residents Gather to Transform Village Open Space into Hibiscus Flower Garden

According to the county on the 21st, on the 14th, about 30 residents including Lee Seung-ok, the village chief of Nonjeong Village, Sinjeon-myeon, gathered and planted 50 Mugunghwa bushes in the open space around the village hall.

In particular, Nonjeong Village is the hometown of General Lee Jam, a militia leader during the Imjin War, and the planting of the national flower Mugunghwa around the village hall and near the memorial monument for General Lee Jam added more significance.

This beautiful village development activity is being promoted with active participation from residents through village meetings for the purpose of the ‘Clean Jeonnam Prime Village’ project. In the first year of the project, various activities such as planting flowers in street flower beds, painting aging facilities, and planting Mugunghwa are being carried out to lead the way in beautifying the village.

Nonjeong Village plans to continue the project in its second year next year with the installation of a waste separation station and painting village murals.

Lee Seung-ok, the village chief of Nonjeong Village, said, “The creation of a beautiful village is progressing smoothly thanks to the active cooperation of the residents,” and added, “We will continue to actively promote the remaining second and third year projects in cooperation with the residents.”

Im Seong-su, the head of Sinjeon-myeon, said, “I thank the village residents who participated, and through this project, we will revive the village community spirit and actively work together to make Sinjeon-myeon clean.”
