According to the province on the 17th, the marine healing project is regarded as a new industry that produces and provides services and goods by utilizing marine resources such as tidal flats, salt, deep seawater, and seaweed.

The province intends to lay the foundation for fostering related industries through the Chungnam-type marine healing pilot project to secure the marine healing industry as a future growth engine.

To this end, the province has set a goal to commence construction of the Taean Marine Healing Pilot Center within this year and open it in 2024.

The Marine Healing Pilot Center will be built with an investment of 34 billion KRW on a total floor area of 8,543㎡ in Dalsanpo, Nam-myeon, Taean-gun, consisting of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.

After completion, the center will be utilized as a space providing health management and recreational services using marine healing resources.

Prior to this, the province will conduct the Chungnam-type marine healing pilot project in the Dalsanpo area for three years starting this year to establish a stable operational foundation for the Marine Healing Pilot Center and to develop a differentiated marine healthcare service model.

Main programs include Nordic walking, beach Pilates, sea meditation, beach yoga, doksal experience, and activities linked to local healing resources.

Yang Seung-jo, Governor of Chungnam Province, said, “Chungnam is the optimal place for fostering new marine industries with its infinite marine resources such as tidal flats. The province will open the Marine Healing Pilot Center in 2024 to serve as a hub for the marine healing industry on the West Coast and create new growth engines for Chungnam and South Korea.”
