[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongsangnam-do officially announced on the 12th that the implementation of the metropolitan transfer discount system between Changwon and Haman will begin in early November.
As the development of the system for the long-awaited project by residents, the 'Metropolitan Transfer Discount System between Changwon and Haman,' is progressing smoothly, the implementation will start in early November.
Since the signing of the business agreement between Changwon and Haman in May, which included detailed contents such as transfer methods, fare discounts, and financial sharing, Gyeongsangnam-do has developed the transfer system with a total project cost of about 570 million KRW and is currently conducting final inspections.
From the 21st of this month, a pilot operation will be conducted to check whether the system operates normally, and after the full-scale implementation in early November, the plan is to minimize inconvenience to residents.
The province plans to establish an organic cooperation system with Changwon, Haman, and the system developer to quickly respond to various civil complaints through early analysis and supplementation of system errors and issues during the initial implementation phase.
Heo Dong-sik, Director of Urban Transportation, said, "With the introduction of the metropolitan transfer discount system, not only will there be economic and environmental ripple effects between the two local governments, but it will also achieve mutual development between regions," adding, "We will thoroughly prepare to ensure there are no setbacks in the implementation in early November to meet residents' expectations."
According to the metropolitan transfer discount system between Changwon and Haman, when transferring between Changwon city buses and Haman rural buses, passengers will receive a transfer discount benefit on the basic bus fare (1,450 KRW).
The province plans to promote the system so that many local residents can utilize it, as the transfer discount will also apply during the pilot operation period.
