[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Yoo Tae-oh, who returned to Korea after finishing filming a movie in the United States, tested positive for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection).


His agency, C-JeS Entertainment, announced on the 4th, "Yoo Tae-oh was confirmed positive for COVID-19 today."


Yoo Tae-oh was cast as the lead in the movie Jeonsaeng (Past Lives) and returned to Korea on the 1st after completing filming in the United States last August. He tested negative in a test conducted immediately after returning, but later tested positive after experiencing a high fever.


Regarding this, the agency stated, "Yoo Tae-oh will halt all schedules and follow the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. Family members, staff, and employees who had overlapping routes or contact with him will also undergo testing as soon as possible."


Meanwhile, Yoo Tae-oh gained recognition for his role as Russian music hero Viktor Tsoi in the 2018 Cannes Film Festival competition entry Leto, and later expanded his career domestically by appearing in dramas such as Money Game, The School Nurse Files, and the movie Vertigo.


Recently, he appeared on tvN variety show Udo Joomak and was cast as the lead in Jeonsaeng, co-invested and produced by A24, the production and distribution company of Minari, and CJ Entertainment. The film depicts the love story of two childhood sweethearts who reunite as adults after meeting in Korea. It is directed and written by Celine Song, and actress Greta Lee also stars in the film.
