Gwangju Buk-gu Takes Steps to Revitalize Employment Market Stagnated by COVID-19

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) is taking steps to revitalize the employment market, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.

Buk-gu announced on the 27th that it will hold the ‘Knock on Your Tomorrow! Do Dream! 2021 Gwangju Buk-gu Job Matching Day’ online until the 10th of next month.

This event was prepared to provide local youth with more diverse employment opportunities.

A total of about 80 leading local 4th industrial revolution companies and small and medium enterprises, including Korea Electric Power Corporation, Oisolution, Tronics, and Hyunjin Enterprise, will participate.

Job seekers can check recruitment information on the ‘Gwangju Buk-gu Job Matching Day dedicated website’ and ‘Gwangju Job Net,’ then submit related documents such as resumes, self-introduction letters, and certificates to connect with hiring companies and find employment.

In particular, during the Matching Day period, a live job talk show will be held in real-time, providing employment information and job experience from current employees of large corporations and public enterprises such as Naver and Korea Railroad Corporation.

Additionally, various employment support programs such as free self-introduction letter consulting, MBTI analysis, and personal color coaching will be operated.

Participants in the event will receive a small gift through a lottery, and for detailed information about the event, please refer to the Buk-gu Office website or contact the Job Policy Division.

Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “This Job Matching Day event will be an opportunity to resolve job mismatches between job seekers and companies, allowing mutual growth and development,” and added, “We will continue to actively discover good jobs and strengthen support for companies to promote employment for various groups, including youth.”
