Cheongam University Health and Medical Service Professional Workforce Training Project Group Selected as Top Grade in Jeonnam Province Evaluation

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Cheongam University (President Seo Hyung-won) announced on the 24th that it was selected for the third time as the highest grade in the 5th-year performance evaluation of Jeonnam Province's Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Project, which is being promoted to realize Jeonnam where young people return and to resolve the manpower supply-demand imbalance caused by employment mismatching. Following the 1st and 3rd-year project performance evaluations, the university will receive an additional 5% of the total project budget in the second half of the year.

The overall employment rate of the 13 project groups participating in the Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Project is 66%, and the employment rate within the province is 64.4%, exceeding last year's average employment rate of 63.4% for universities located in Jeonnam. Through project operations, it contributes to creating youth jobs and improving the employment rate of young people within the province.

In particular, the Cheongam University Health and Medical Service Professional Workforce Training Project Group (Director Professor Park Seong-jong), which has been participating in the Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Project since 2016, achieved excellent results with an overall employment rate of 79.2% and an in-province employment rate of 94.7% last year, earning the honor of being selected as the highest grade in the 5th-year performance evaluation.

The Jeonnam Province Industry-Academia Cooperation Employment Package Project involves project groups with various academic systems and majors from 2nd to 4th-year students. By operating an industry-demand customized, field-centered curriculum, it aims to enhance students' job competencies in industrial sites and strengthen employment connections with local industries, thereby realizing a Jeonnam where young people return and expecting to resolve manpower supply-demand imbalances caused by employment mismatching.
