Dongbu Construction Wins 50 Billion KRW Contract for Comprehensive Management Project along the Mekong River in Laos

Dongbu Construction announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract for the Laos Mekong Riverside Comprehensive Management Project (Phase 2), commissioned by the Public Works and Transport Department of Vientiane, Laos.

The project involves constructing approximately 8 km of embankments along the Mekong Riverside located in Vientiane City, reinforcing the riverbank, and creating riverside parks and roads, with a scale of about 51.8 billion KRW.

The construction is carried out with funds from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Export-Import Bank of Korea to prevent flood damage and embankment erosion risks and to improve the quality of life for Vientiane citizens.

Dongbu Construction, as the lead company, will carry out the project together with Kumho Construction, with the construction scheduled to proceed over 48 months after commencement.

On the 17th (local time), Dongbu Construction signed a contract for the Laos Mekong Riverside Comprehensive Management Project (Phase 2) commissioned by the Vientiane Public Works and Transport Department of Laos.

Dongbu Construction stated, "The citizens of Vientiane, Laos, are exposed to flood damage every year," adding, "Through this project, we expect to apply Korea's advanced technology and Dongbu Construction's construction know-how to prevent flood damage in Vientiane City and make the lives of citizens safer and more prosperous."

A Dongbu Construction official said, "Laos has very high economic development potential and the foreign investment environment is gradually improving," and added, "Dongbu Construction will actively participate in Laos's infrastructure projects going forward."
