[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Amosense is showing strong performance. The news that it has obtained a patent for a high-power shielding sheet applicable to electric vehicles and is developing related products appears to have influenced its stock price. Recently, by also developing an RF module, considered a core component of autonomous driving electronics, expectations are growing that it will solidify its position in the future automotive market.
As of 10:10 AM on the 23rd, Amosense is trading at 16,000 KRW, up 19.4% from the previous trading day.
On this day, an economic newspaper quoted an Amosense official saying, "We hold a patent for a high-power shielding sheet applicable to electric vehicles," and reported that development is underway for wireless charging for electric vehicles.
Amosense, established in 2008, is a next-generation automotive electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) comprehensive solution company. It developed the world's first wireless charging shielding sheet. The company is focusing on advancing core communication modules and precision sensor technologies necessary for autonomous and eco-friendly vehicles. Starting as early as this year, it plans to begin full-scale mass production of new business items across all business areas including automotive electronics, IoT, existing radio frequency (RF), and materials.
Recently, the adoption rate of wireless charging in wearable devices such as smartwatches, AR glasses, and wireless earphones has been increasing. The market growth rate is expected to be 50% annually, forming a wireless charging market larger than that of smartphones. Amosense’s major customers include domestic company S, European company G, and American companies G and A. This year, American company A designated Amotech, China’s Amphenol, and China’s Sunway as partners for a new wearable project and recommended using Amosense products for wireless charging shielding sheets. Purchase orders have been received from Amphenol and Sunway.
Amosense filed a patent in 2018 for a high-power shielding sheet applicable to electric vehicles. Last year, it completed patent registration for a "high-power hybrid magnetic field shielding sheet" and is now developing wireless charging products for electric vehicles.
The Amosense Module Device Research Institute succeeded in developing a wireless charging shielding sheet and created a hybrid shielding sheet capable of simultaneously blocking electromagnetic waves from antennas of various frequencies. This provided the foundation for commercializing wireless charging technology for the first time in the world. The Convergence Technology Research Institute developed ceramic substrates such as LED substrates and high-power power substrates using ceramics. It has achieved results by developing ceramic substrates used for 5G substrates requiring high power and autonomous driving vehicle substrates and is proceeding with commercialization. As of June 30, it holds 1,175 domestic and international patents.
The patented technology can be considered the source of Amosense’s competitiveness and is expected to serve as a stepping stone for growth into a global materials and components specialized company. The patents held by Amosense are recognized as fundamental and gatekeeper patents for the respective items and are linked to sales through product commercialization.
Recently, it succeeded in developing an RF module, considered a core of autonomous driving. Amosense’s ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology is an item challenging the first commercialization as a next-generation digital key. The cloud-based virtual key sharing system (RCK) is also planned to be supplied to global automotive electronics companies after its release. In the sensor field, it has succeeded in developing a speaker location-based solution within voice recognition modules, which are core to the recently growing autonomous vehicles, as well as technology capable of separating simultaneous speech and multiple speakers.
