Changwon City Implements Level 4 Social Distancing Amid Surging COVID-19 Cases

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, raised the social distancing level from 3 to 4 starting at midnight on the 6th.

The city will maintain level 4 social distancing for 11 days until midnight on the 16th.

Under level 4 social distancing, private gatherings of 5 or more people are prohibited before 6 p.m. (up to 4 people allowed), and gatherings of 3 or more people are prohibited after 6 p.m. (up to 2 people allowed).

Additionally, entertainment bars, karaoke bars, and singing practice rooms may operate until 10 p.m., while emotional pubs and hunting pochas are subject to assembly bans.

Restaurants and cafes may only offer takeout and delivery services after 10 p.m.

Furthermore, the city will completely suspend the operation of indoor and outdoor public sports facilities during the level 4 period.

Changwon City, with a population of 1.03 million, meets the criteria for level 4 when the daily confirmed cases reach 41.5 for three consecutive days.

The city had narrowly missed the level 4 criteria until recently, but after 62 confirmed cases were reported in a single day on the 2nd, the city abruptly decided on the 4th to raise social distancing to level 4.
