Lee Jae-myung "Watching the players' fighting spirit, I calm the anxiety and complexity in my heart" Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung posted on Facebook about player Kim Yeon-koung

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, governor of Gyeonggi Province and a presidential primary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, revealed that whenever his mind wavers amid the rampant "fake, distorted, and black propaganda" in the political arena, he regains his composure by watching our athletes who participated in the Tokyo Olympics overcome pressure from all sides and pour out their preparations without regret.

On the 3rd, Lee posted on Facebook a photo of volleyball national team player Kim Yeon-kyung along with the caption "Confident with grounds," saying, "Every time I watch (our athletes' matches) in the moving car, my hands sweat," and added, "Although the Olympics were held after many twists and turns, it seems clear that they have become a great source of strength during these difficult times due to COVID-19."

He continued, "I always admire the boundless concentration of sports players," and added, "Pushing away countless distractions and enduring tough training, overcoming pressure from all sides, and pouring out what they have prepared without regret?our lives must also be a continuous repetition of such endurance and challenge."

He then said, "Politics is not very different (from sports matches)," emphasizing, "Even if resistance and backlash from vested interests are fierce, we must focus on the voices of the people and the times, cross the river of all kinds of slander and black propaganda, and prove our abilities without losing our center to gain the deep trust of the people."

In particular, he praised Kim, saying, "I really envy and admire Kim Yeon-kyung's exhilarating roar. Since she has self-confidence and pride in having done her best, she has nothing to worry about no matter what anyone says," and added, "I cannot help but lavishly praise that confident dignity with grounds."

Overlapping the athletes' fighting spirit with his own future political journey, Lee candidly expressed, "Even amid a relentless schedule and rampant disputes, I will stay sharp and face 'the urgent task of changing the lives of the people' directly," and said, "Looking at the photos of (the athletes working hard), I steady the impatience and complexity that I cannot discard in a corner of my heart."
