Two Middle School Students in Jindo Fall to Death from Apartment, Police Suspect Extreme Choice

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] An accident occurred in an apartment in Jindo, Jeollanam-do, where two middle school students fell to their deaths.

According to the Jindo Police Station on the 31st, a report was received around 1:45 PM that day about two middle school students, boy A (16) and girl B (16), falling from an apartment in Jindo-eup, Jindo-gun.

They were transported to the hospital following reports from residents who witnessed the scene, but boy A died at the scene and girl B died after being taken to the hospital.

The two students, who attended the same middle school, were known to be close friends and lived in different buildings within the same apartment complex.

The police suspect that the two students made an extreme choice together.

A police official stated, “We are currently investigating with the bereaved families and those around them. No signs of a struggle between the two students were found at the scene, and to determine the exact cause of death, we plan to conduct phone tracking and autopsies.”
