[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Craft beer startup Amazing Brewing Company (hereinafter Amazing) announced on the 27th that it has entered the Hong Kong premium supermarket chain 'City Super'. This is a rare case where a craft beer company, not a major beer distributor, directly exports overseas, drawing attention to the results.
City Super regularly introduces popular Korean foods and products to local consumers through the 'Hallyu on a Plate' exhibition. In this exhibition, Amazing was selected as a representative Korean craft beer company and showcased ▲ Seongsu-dong Pale Ale ▲ Amazing Lager Pilsner ▲ Mildang Weizen ▲ Sopra Hard Seltzer.
After opening the door to its first overseas expansion in Singapore last year, Amazing is currently preparing to enter other Asian countries such as Malaysia, China, Indonesia, and Mongolia, in addition to Hong Kong.
Amazing is currently securing a second brewery to strengthen production capacity. Once the second brewery is completed, it will have an annual production capacity of 9 million liters, securing sufficient volume for overseas market expansion.
Kim Taekyung, CEO of Amazing, said, “To break away from the monotonous image of Korean alcoholic beverages in the past, Amazing will continue to introduce diverse and distinctive craft beers to the global market,” adding, “Furthermore, for people around the world who love Hallyu culture, we will enable them not only to see and hear but also to eat and drink, experiencing Korean culture.”
