The 25 district heads, including Lee Seong, head of Guro District and chairman of the Seoul District Heads Council, will participate via video conference.
On the 20th, Mayor Oh held an 'Emergency Meeting of District Heads on COVID-19' with autonomous district heads and announced that regular weekly meetings will be held until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes. Accordingly, Mayor Oh plans to continue holding weekly regular meetings.
Regarding the extension of the Level 4 social distancing in the metropolitan area, Mayor Oh plans to urge each district to actively cooperate to ensure that quarantine rules are well observed on the ground.
He will also ask for thorough measures to ensure that cooling equipment and heatwave countermeasure items such as air conditioners and ice vests are smoothly supplied to frontline medical staff and support personnel at temporary screening clinics and vaccination centers, who are struggling with the combined challenges of the COVID-19 spread and the heatwave. He will request the expansion and operation of drive-thru testing centers to block the spread of COVID-19.
At the meeting, measures and support plans for vulnerable groups enduring difficult times due to the heatwave will also be discussed.
