KT Koo Geon-mo's Era, Launch of 'kt alpha'... Expected Strengthening of KT Group's Commerce Capabilities

KT (CEO Koo Hyun-mo) is strengthening its position as a digital platform company. Following the appointment of Nasmedia President Jeong Ki-ho as the new CEO of the digital commerce specialist KTH in March, the merged entity of KTH and KT M-House, kt alpha (CEO Jeong Ki-ho), officially launched on July 1.

With this, kt alpha combines KTH's existing ICT infrastructure and technological capabilities, as well as its strengths in the commerce sector, with the business competencies of Nasmedia, its subsidiary PlayD, and KT M-House. As a group company representing the growth industry of 'commerce,' kt alpha plans to evolve into an integrated commerce platform that enhances corporate value not only for itself but for the entire group.

K-Shopping, kt alpha's flagship commerce business, broke new ground on the 10th by launching the first-ever simultaneous live commerce broadcast on both mobile and TV apps, breaking down platform boundaries. Additionally, by discovering excellent products from small and medium-sized enterprises and releasing exclusive K-Shopping products, it aims to strengthen product competitiveness and provide new value to customers.

At the same time, leveraging the digital advertising capabilities and accumulated big data of Nasmedia and PlayD, both overseen by CEO Jeong Ki-ho, kt alpha will propose more sophisticated, customized products to strengthen D2C (Direct to Consumer) commerce. Furthermore, it plans to vigorously expand KT M-House's B2B and B2C mobile gift certificate business 'Giftishow,' as well as new businesses targeting the MZ generation, such as the sneaker resale platform 'Reple.'

To commemorate the launch of kt alpha, K-Shopping has planned aggressive promotions. Following the Giftishow sale with discounts up to 39% that ran until June 30, July will feature the 'Plus Alpha' promotion, offering payback of up to 90% of the purchase amount in points on a first-come, first-served basis every day. Additionally, various discount events are underway, including the 'Sunday Alpha' promotion, which gives 50% points back when purchasing specific home shopping broadcast products every Sunday.
