Policy Preparation Team Activated... Verification Plan by '100-Person Pledge Verification Committee'
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Democratic Party of Korea has launched the 'Presidential Election Policy Preparation Team' and has officially begun preparing the party-level presidential election pledges.
On the 22nd, at the first meeting of the party's presidential election policy preparation team held at the National Assembly main building, Party Leader Song Young-gil said, "We need to accelerate the establishment of a policy vision that will lead to victory in the presidential election," adding, "The entire party will work together to create it through sufficient consensus and communication." This means that the upcoming presidential election should align not only with the individual candidate but also with the party's direction, identity, and the demands of the era. Leader Song added, "We must inherit the strengths of the Moon Jae-in administration, supplement its shortcomings, and verify policies suitable for the new era."
The Democratic Party plans to enhance the completeness of its policies by establishing a '100-Person Pledge Verification Committee,' which will include citizens and experts to verify the pledges. Additionally, the party will release preliminary pledges around October, when the Democratic Party's final candidate is decided, and coordinate these with the final candidate's pledges to announce the party's official pledges.
The heads of the presidential election policy preparation team are Policy Committee Chair Park Wan-joo and Democratic Research Institute Director Noh Woong-rae, serving jointly. Chair Park stated, "Based on the achievements and limitations of the Moon administration and the challenges of the era, we will create pledges centered on people's livelihoods." Director Noh also said, "We will develop party-centered and candidate-common pledges," adding, "We will deepen and develop the pledges proposed by the six primary candidates into party pledges so that whoever becomes the final candidate will be supported to win the presidential election."
