The Daegu District Court Criminal Division 11 (Chief Judge Lee Sang-oh) announced on the 12th that it sentenced A (23) to 2 years and 6 months in prison on charges of rape and other offenses, and ordered his immediate detention in court.
The court also ordered A to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program and imposed a 5-year employment restriction in institutions related to children and adolescents.
A was prosecuted on charges of threatening to distribute videos while committing quasi-rape after discovering his girlfriend's involvement in prostitution.
A was also charged with raping his girlfriend and defaming her by informing her acquaintances of her prostitution.
The court stated, "The victim desires severe punishment, and considering the method and content of the crime, the nature of the offense is very serious," and "taking into account the victim's significant sexual humiliation and physical and mental suffering."
