[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 7th that starting from the 12th, it will sequentially accept advance reservations for COVID-19 vaccinations targeting people in their 50s, high school seniors, and school staff.
The city plans to expand the existing two vaccination centers and increase the number of designated medical institutions from 100 to 118 this month. Once vaccinations are in full swing, it is expected that many people will be able to conveniently receive vaccinations, significantly improving the vaccination rate.
The July vaccination plan includes those who missed vaccination in June, general citizens in their 50s, high school seniors and high school staff, daycare centers, kindergartens, elementary and middle school staff and care personnel, enlisted soldiers (scheduled to enlist from July to September), and local government autonomous vaccinations.
Advance reservations can be made by searching for the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Advance Reservation System' on portal sites and applying.
About 6,500 high school seniors and school staff will receive the Pfizer vaccine at vaccination centers from the 19th to the 30th after consultations between the Office of Education and the vaccination centers, with vaccinations conducted by school.
Education and childcare workers can also make advance reservations from the 14th to the 17th and receive the Pfizer vaccine at designated medical institutions from the 28th to August 7th.
So far, among all vaccination targets aged 18 and over in Gimhae City, 117,964 people (26.6%) have completed the first dose. Citizens who have completed the second dose number 30,863 (6.9%).
Mayor Heo Seong-gon stated, “Our city has a large young population, with 64% of citizens aged between 18 and 59. Vaccinations must be carried out during their scheduled periods to achieve 70% vaccination coverage by the end of September,” urging active participation.
