[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in said in an interview with the US magazine Time, released on the 24th, "The peace we have now is very fragile. It can be shaken at any time."

Regarding the resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue, President Moon said, "I know there is not much time left," but added, "The COVID-19 vaccine could be a means to bring North Korea to the negotiating table."

In response to the view that a South-North summit is unlikely to take place during his term, he said, "I do not agree." President Moon also conveyed past conversations between the two leaders, saying, "(Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of North Korea) told me that he wants to leave a better future for his children and does not want his children to bear the burden of nuclear weapons."

President Moon's interview was conducted at the Blue House Yeomin-gwan on the 9th, prior to General Secretary Kim's 3rd plenary meeting on the 17th, where he mentioned 'dialogue and confrontation.'
