Lotte Homeshopping has been conducting a real-time communication program through YouTube Live since June of last year.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Homeshopping announced that since the early spread of COVID-19, it has strengthened communication through non-face-to-face methods such as remote work and has proactively introduced welfare systems to support video education and work-life balance (Work-Life Balance).
Lotte Homeshopping is conducting real-time communication programs via YouTube Live. Since its launch in June last year, YouTube Live has become a representative internal communication program by moving away from the heavy and rigid events centered on CEO addresses to unique segments and content such as blind auditions and quiz events for employees. In May, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its founding, it reviewed Lotte Homeshopping’s growth process and held interviews with couples who have worked for 20 years, along with congratulatory performances.
Support for strengthening employee capabilities through non-face-to-face internal training is also expanding. The company established the educational content platform Lotte Homeshopping Learning Mate, offering over 2,000 diverse courses on trends, economy, management, and digital topics in videos of about 10 minutes each. The Trend Forum, which invites famous speakers to introduce distribution industry trends and consumer analysis, is continuously operated in the form of video lectures.
Lotte Homeshopping is supporting employees’ work-life balance by expanding and reorganizing existing welfare systems. Especially since the proportion of female talent is high at 56.8%, it is focusing on creating a workplace where women can work comfortably. In addition to the legally mandated one-year parental leave, employees can take an additional year, allowing up to two years of parental leave. The company also operates a Child Enrollment Care Leave system that allows up to one year of leave when a child enters elementary school. Starting this month, the childcare allowance, previously provided only to employees with children aged 5 and 6, has been expanded to cover children aged 1 to 6.
Furthermore, to help balance work and family life, flexible working hours that allow employees to freely adjust their commuting times, Home Day where employees leave one hour early every Wednesday and Friday, and a PC Off system that automatically shuts down computers at quitting time are being implemented.
