Homeplus Culture Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the online education platform MKYU (MK&YOU University).
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Homeplus Culture Center announced on the 18th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for partnership in online and offline programs with MKYU (MK&YOU University), an online education platform operated by star instructor Kim Mikyung.
The two parties agreed to exclusively open the fall semester course "A Smartphone Class More Fun than Trot with MKYU Digital Tutors" at Homeplus Culture Center to bridge the digital divide among the senior demographic, and to support the dispatch of digital tutors (professionals who guide seniors on how to use digital devices) to conduct the lectures. Furthermore, starting from the winter semester, they plan to link various online and offline programs of both parties.
Currently, 242 students enrolled in the MKYU digital tutor course will be dispatched as instructors at Homeplus Culture Center. Homeplus plans to pay all the fall semester revenue generated from this course as instructor fees, supporting first-time instructors who are women with career interruptions and contributing to social responsibility.
Additionally, from the winter semester, popular courses including the MKYU climate change expert certification course will be expanded and launched, and a dedicated MKYU program section will be operated within the Homeplus Culture Center online site. To facilitate smooth practice for MKYU instructors and students, offline spaces will also be partnered.
A Homeplus Culture Center official said, "Through the partnership with a well-known online platform company, we aim to enhance the competitiveness of the culture center’s programs and contribute to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities," adding, "We will continue to plan programs specialized for various demographics so that customers can choose and experience the learning they need."
