Agreement Signed with YWCA Women's New Work Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch (Manager Na Yeon) has taken active steps to promote the independence of socially vulnerable groups, specifically career-interrupted women.
On the 17th, Lotte Department Store Gwangju announced that it signed an agreement with the YWCA Gwangju Women's New Employment Center (Center Director Park Jeong-soon) to support the employment of career-interrupted women.
The two organizations will mutually cooperate on counseling and employment linkage support for women seeking jobs, mutual promotional cooperation to expand the user base of both organizations, and other employment support-related tasks.
Lotte Department Store Gwangju plans to provide support services such as employment counseling and employment linkage once a month for women wishing to re-enter the workforce, allowing any woman visiting the department store to easily and comfortably obtain employment information.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Lotte Department Store has conducted social contribution activities for socially vulnerable career-interrupted women.
Since 2017, Lotte Department Store has been conducting the ‘Rejoice Campaign,’ a representative social contribution activity that supports women's self-esteem, dreams, and challenges.
Considering that more than 70% of customers and employees are women, the Rejoice Campaign, which started with Lotte Department Store, has expanded to become Lotte Shopping's representative social contribution activity encompassing all shopping divisions including Lotte Mart and Lotte Super.
Currently, psychological counseling centers have been established at Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch and Lotte Mart Jamsil Branch, providing psychological counseling for employees and customers, with all proceeds donated as business funds for vulnerable groups.
Additionally, the Rejoice Mind Care Program, which offers psychological counseling and education to comprehensive social welfare centers nationwide and low-income vulnerable groups, is also in operation.
Together with famous singer-songwriters Jeok Jae, Kwon Jin-ah, and Lee Jin-ah, the theme song of Rejoice, ‘For the Shining You,’ was produced to support women's self-esteem, dreams, and challenges through the music.
Manager Na Yeon stated, “We plan to continuously promote various women-friendly activities for the happy lives of women,” and added, “We will strive to fulfill the corporate social responsibility through social contribution activities going forward.”
