GS Shop and Pohang University of Science and Technology Sign AI Joint Research MOU

GS Shop has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pohang University of Science and Technology to advance e-commerce using artificial intelligence (AI).

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Shop announced on the 14th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) to advance e-commerce using artificial intelligence (AI).

Through this agreement, GS Shop and POSTECH plan to conduct research and collaboration for the development of AI models in the fields of search and recommendation. These areas are core sectors of distribution and e-commerce, and both parties expect to significantly enhance customer convenience.

Additionally, both sides anticipate effectively combining the latest academic theories with real industry data to solve more practical problems. Furthermore, they will continue broad cooperation, including information and talent exchange, to promote AI research in various fields.

Seo Youngjoo, Dean of the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at POSTECH, stated, “Compared to other fields, synergy between academia and industry is more important in the AI domain. The needs and challenges of the industry will stimulate academic development, and we hope to create mutual synergy through exchanges from diverse perspectives.”
