Mapo-gu, Recruiting 20 Participants for the Local Community Job Project


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) is recruiting participants for a local specialized job project aimed at stabilizing the lives of vulnerable groups from May 26 to June 2.


A total of 20 people will be selected across 11 fields. The target projects include ▲Waste Resource Utilization Flowerbed Creation Project ▲Visiting Job Discovery Team Project ▲Childcare Bridge Cafe Project ▲Samgaenaru Good Neighbor Sharing Center ▲Love Sharing Vegetable Garden Cultivation Project ▲Creating a Better Dohwa Neighborhood Project ▲Yeonnam-dong Walkable Village Creation Project ▲Hapjeong-dong Specialized Street Creation Project ▲Youth Career Experience Activity Expert Training Project ▲Seongsan 1-dong Beautiful Alley Creation Project, and a new project related to COVID-19 quarantine measures, ▲Epidemiological Investigation Support Project.


The working period is five months, from July 1 to November 30, with working hours of 30 hours per week (based on under 65 years old).


The salary conditions include an hourly wage of 8,720 KRW, weekly and annual leave allowances, and a snack allowance (5,000 KRW per day), with enrollment in the four major social insurances.


Eligibility requires being a resident of Mapo-gu who is at least 18 years old and capable of working as of the project start date, with household income at or below 65% of the median income and assets under 300 million KRW. However, exclusions apply to ▲those who have participated repeatedly in the same type of financially supported job project for more than two consecutive years as of the application date ▲those who have participated in or dropped out of a financially supported full-time job project after the application start date ▲those who received unemployment benefits after participating in the target project without going through an employment support program ▲family members of public officials (spouse and children) ▲and two participants from the same household.


Applicants wishing to apply should visit their local community service center or the Mapo-gu Office Job Support Division with an application form, ID, family relation certificate, and job registration certificate from May 26 to June 2.

Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun of Mapo-gu stated, “I hope the local community job project will provide economic activity opportunities to residents who have not been able to work due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, helping to stabilize their lives,” and added, “We will do our best to provide more public jobs.”
