Daeyang SC Co., Ltd. and Pulmuone Jointly Research 'Kim Seed Smart Cultivation'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Daeyang SC Co., Ltd. (President Lee Seung-hwan) announced on the 16th that it recently signed a business agreement with Pulmuone Technology Institute (Director Lee Sang-yoon) regarding smart cultivation of Gim seeds.

This agreement is a joint research collaboration for technology development to produce Gim seeds developed independently by Pulmuone through Daeyang SC's smart cultivation device for Gim seeds.

Pulmuone is the only private company in Korea that has developed and registered Gim seeds, leading the Korean Gim industry. Currently, it is taking the lead in developing excellent seeds by creating its own Gim seeds such as 'Pulmuno-eul' and 'Pulmu Haesim.'

Additionally, Daeyang SC's smart cultivation device for Gim seeds uses artificial intelligence to optimize conditions such as illuminance (brightness) and water temperature according to the growth stage of the Gim seeds. It won the grand prize at the Marine and Fisheries Startup Contest hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries last year.

Following the business agreement between the two companies, it is expected that research and development of Gim seeds and the Gim aquaculture industry will gain significant momentum.

Lee Sang-yoon, Director of Pulmuone Technology Institute, said, "The seed industry is not only a strategic industry of the 21st century but also an important task to protect food sovereignty," adding, "We will contribute to increasing the income of aquaculture farmers by supplying excellent Gim seeds using the smart cultivation device to aquaculture farms, and produce high-quality Gim to become a beloved Pulmuone."

Lee Seung-hwan, President of Daeyang SC Co., Ltd., said, "This agreement has become an opportunity to modernize and standardize Gim seed development and cultivation technology," and added, "We expect it to greatly help the globalization of Gim, Korea's representative seafood, and the development of the Gim industry."

Meanwhile, Daeyang SC Co., Ltd. is a tenant company of the Mokpo Fisheries Food Support Center Foundation and has been recognized for its technological capabilities, including winning the grand prize at the Marine and Fisheries Startup Contest last year, being selected for promising commercialization technology by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, being selected as a promising marine and fisheries startup company in 2021, being chosen for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' key enterprise fostering project, being selected as a Global IP Star company by the Korean Intellectual Property Office, and being named one of the 1000 National Representative Innovative Companies.

In particular, in April, it signed a business agreement with Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, and is preparing for a pilot project.
