Over 100 737 Max Aircraft with Electrical Defects Found... Expected to Resume Flights Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suhwan] The operation of Boeing's 737 Max, which was temporarily suspended due to an electrical defect, is expected to resume soon.
According to major foreign media on the 12th (local time), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Boeing's aircraft repair plan related to about 100 Boeing 737 Max planes whose operations were temporarily suspended due to electrical defect issues.
Boeing stated, "With the FAA's approval, we have sent 'Service Bulletins' guiding repair procedures to each airline that owns defective aircraft," adding, "We are working on resuming operations."
The 737 Max, which had its operations suspended, is expected to resume flights as early as this summer, and with the upcoming holiday season, domestic air travel demand in the U.S. is anticipated to recover, providing relief to the aviation industry.
Earlier, after Boeing notified airlines last month about the electrical defect in the 737 Max, three major airlines operating the 737 Max?Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines?suspended operations of over 60 737 Max aircraft.
On the 29th of last month, the FAA also issued corrective orders for these aircraft. According to the findings at the time, some 737 Max aircraft had electrical system issues that could potentially cause problems with engine cooling prevention functions and other critical cockpit functions.
